Central Pasco School System |
|
|
The Pasco County school system
is recognized across the state for its innovative and challenging instructional
programs and teaching practices focused on technology and high standards
of excellence. There are also two private schools. |
From pre-K through 12th grade the classrooms are organized into teams
to create an environment offering Continuity of Caring. This concept
offers students the opportunity to work together, and learn from a consistent
group of teachers and staff for more than the usual one year.
Land O’ Lakes High School students are organized into Learning Communities
to make better connections between what they are learning and what they will
be doing in the future. Land O’ Lakes High also provides students the
opportunity to enroll in advanced placement classes to earn college credit
while in high school, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma program,
a rigorous program of studies. This diploma is accepted at universities and
colleges throughout the world.
Central Pasco Students continuously perform at, or above, national state
averages on the (SAT) college entrance exam, the (FCAT), the High School
Competency Test and the Stanford Achievement Test. Eleven of our teachers
are certified by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.
This is the highest level of teacher certification in the nation. Pasco-Hernando
Community College, 15 minutes away, offers a workplace Learning Internship
Program.
